We barely remember what happened yesterday, so to expect us to take geological eras into consideration is a bit much. However, our lives are built on deep time - I wouldn't be writing these words if someone hadn't figured out how to turn solidified & liquified fossils into fuel.
From Frederic Hanusch's "The Politics of Deep Time."
I define deep time as the realm in which societies interact with processes on a geological or even cosmic timescale. Deep time is thus a relational concept that covers the interactions between societies and processes taking place within geological and cosmic times. Although often used interchangeably, particularly in a non-geological discourse, deep, geological, and cosmic time can be distinguished with regard to their definition
How can we extract those fossilized memories and bring them into consciousness?
